W Brisbane was the venue again for the truly spectacular wedding of Carly & Glen.

A successful wedding can be about everything coming together on the day, but then there are ways you can improve your odds in that department. Start by choosing an outstanding venue like the W Brisbane, and you will have in my opinion, a significant advantage from the get go!

This couple elected to shoot a reduced couples portrait sessions of less than 30 minutes, which I absolutely applaud because it means getting more time to spend with guests.

And that time was put to good use, with the Bride spontaneously hugging every single guest after her grand entrance, table by table, one by one! I can’t say I have ever seen that before, but it was a brilliant move to get some quick candids of guests smiling and in great spirits.

Another smart move was holding everything at the W Brisbane, including getting ready photos, portraits, ceremony and reception. Why leave the air conditioned comfort of one of Brisbane’s top 5 star hotels if you don’t need to?

That didn’t mean we stayed there entirely though, as it was October in Brisbane we of course managed to pop across the road at just the right time of the day to get some Jacaranda action!

This wedding also proves that you don’t need a photographer for 8 hours plus on your wedding day. Especially if you are clever enough to plan everything at one location, the total coverage for this day was just five hours including everything.
