CATHERINE & BRENDEN - 3 Hours Coverage

What an incredible combination, one of Brisbanes top 5 star hotels as a backdrop together with the most popular park.
It is worth noting that unfortunately the Calile Hotel no longer allows guests staying at the hotel to capture portraits with a professional photographer, unless they are getting married on-site. That is such a shame, because it offers some amazing locations and backdrops with its white brick and stone design, and lush green plantings throughout.
One of the most stunning areas is the grand staircase which offers great natural light as well. The nearby laneway close to the lobby bar is also a no brainer for portraits, as are some spots around James St.
Catherine & Brenden got married in 2020 though when the rules for photographing were somewhat more relaxed. We did have to seek permission to photography there, but this was granted together with a key to access the Rooftop Terrace which we fully took advantage of. Thanks very much to the Calile Hotel for allowing us access on this day, and hopefully one day they will relax their photography and videography rules so more wedding guests can stay there and benefit as well.
Please note that the Calile Hotel does allow professional photography if you are holding your reception at The Calile Hotel.
The couple chose to get married under the giant fig tree, which was pretty challenging with the variations in light! But we were rewarded with some beautiful sunkissed light closer to sunset.
The shots below in front of another fig tree was shot with artificial light creating the impression of the setting sun. That’s because this late in the day, there is no direct light on the fig tree. It’s one of my personal favourite photos from the day.
