BRISBANE COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

INTRODUCTION

I craft brand-driven commercial photography for businesses and agencies in Brisbane and beyond, specialising in lifestyle and online presence commercial photography involving people, products and services.

Hiring a commercial photographer can appear daunting at first. Which photographer to choose and trust? How much will they charge? Will there be any hidden costs?

I try to make the process as transparent and simple as possible, and publish all my rates below for all stages of commercial photo production.

All commercial photography projects include unlimited usage in perpetuity, meaning there are no extra costs for ‘usage’. All costs are based on time, and detailed on your free quote.

I am not a fan of approaching commercial photography with an ‘all guns blazing’ attitude to lighting and complexity. In fact, I always try to deliver the best possible value for my clients.

In many cases shoots can be arranged in natural light with minimal artificial lighting setups and taking advantage of my experience shooting in natural light as an experienced wedding & event photographer.

LIFESTYLE

This genre of commercial photography is sought after by many brands and businesses who wish to visually connect with their audience across a growing variety of platforms and channels.

Lifestyle photography shoots are all different depending on the needs of the client (in terms of quality & quantity of photos needed) but may incorporate staff, customers, clients, patients, students, models or other talent. Commercial lifestyle photography tends to include actual ‘end-users’ of the product or service.

Lifestyle photography shoots can range from several hours to several days, and can be shot using natural light or augmented with artificial light.

Photos are often used across a wide range of online, digital and social channels to represent your brand.

HERO

Hero images are often used as full width website banners on your main marketing website and social media platforms. I have extensive experience shooting these type of critical brand assets. Hero images may required consideration of blank space to overlay text, and in general terms they take longer to plan and shoot per photo.

ONLINE PRESENCE

This type of commercial photography can really be anything and everything, from external/internal building shots, to photos of staff at work for social media or website usage. Often this type of photography will be captured in additional to Lifestyle and Hero Images (for example, lots of ‘Online Presence’ photos) and just 1 or 2 ‘Hero’ images across a half-day shoot (for example).

STAGES OF COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

TALENT & STYLISTS

Extras people may be required for commercial shoots such as staff, customers, clients, patients, students, actors or models etc. Stylists for commercial photography may include hair and makeup artists, wardrobe stylists, decoration and general creative talent.

Normally the client or agency provides and arranges for people to participate in the shoot and get their sign-off, we are just there to take the photos (essentially). If required we can quote additional costs for sourcing talent.

POST PRODUCTION

All photos are shot in raw format and individually edited for contrast, colour, white balance, levelling etc. This is all included in the standard hourly rate, so there are no suprise costs.

PHOTOSHOP

Once you receive your gallery, you can request any additional Photoshop work that is required, and this can be quoted for as a final stage (if required). Photoshop work is $90 per hour + GST.
