Brookfield Hall is one of those quintessential DIY wedding venues in Brisbane (and yes Brookfield is just 15km from the CBD!).

Couples like Gabi & Will chose this location because they wanted to inject their personality into the wedding, and take advantage of being able to serve their choice of drinks and cocktails.

This just makes sense these days when in fact many guests do not really drink much of the drink package anyway. Or if they do drink, they are more interested in mid strength, low carb or no carb beers for example, many of which simply don’t feature on drinks package menus.

There are some amazing food truck vendors around that specialise in DIY weddings, and that know venues like Brookfield Hall inside out. That is really important when hiring a caterer, so make sure they are already very familiar with the venue.

Brookfield Hall is located next to the Brookfield Showground, which offers a spectacular place to capture couples and bridal portraits. There are some cute little buildings that are almost setup for wedding photography.

Overall the Brookfield Hall and Brookfield Showgrounds do not offer a very diverse range of backgrounds and backdrops though, so it’s perhaps best suited to couples who are only looking for a relatively short couples portraits session (say 30 mins).

This is not a big problem though, why would you even want to be away from your guests for hours anyway? And you can always augment your couples portraits with getting ready photos based in a nearby Airbnb for example, so you won’t be lacking for portraits.

Brookfield Hall weddings normally take place immediately outside the hall in front of the hall entrance. Brides can either walk around the hall to make their entrance, or prepare themselves inside the hall and do their processional through the main doors.
