Walkabout Creek is one of those locations that every time I get back there, I just feel this sense of calm and tranquility the moment I step out of the car. It’s not just the soothing sounds of nature, the abundance of oxygen and clean air from the surrounding bush is so refreshing and invigorating.

That’s why I adore shooting weddings at Walkabout Creek, and to this date have been lucky enough to have shot five weddings with another one booked in 2024. Each wedding is always unique, but one thing that has remained consisten has been the choice couples make when it comes to the ceremony location.

While Walkabout Creek does offer a number of ceremony locations to choose from, everyone seems to pick the central Amphitheatre which is nestled amongst the bush, but with a background view of the lake.

The long walk down the path for the brides processional always makes for some stunning long lens photos as (usually) Dad is whispering some last minute tips or witty comments into the brides ear before she turns down the main path towards the assembled guests.

It’s then that I have to make a choice as to when I dart down the aisle to get into place for the brides walk down the aisle, taking a few moments of course to capture the grooms reaction!

I don’t know what is about this location in particular, but I seem to recall that it elicits more emotional from couples than any other location. Walkbout Creek is mesmerising in many ways with it’s meandering paths and wild flowers dotted along the landscape.

While the weather for Susanna & Ben was not exactly perfect (it was overcast for the ceremony and portraits and later absolutely bucketed down) the entire day was absolutely unforgettable.
