Rosalie House and Cellar Door Restaurant Lilydale

You really know you are in the country when Google Maps sends you down a narrow gravel road. Shooting a wedding celebration at Rosalie House in Toowoomba last Saturday, the excitement was building with every twist and turn as I made my way towards Lavenders Road.

Even the Lilydale sounds like it came right out of a Disney fairytale, and the actual destination did not disappoint one little bit.

Rosalie House is set practically inside a beautiful sun drenched vineyard that sees the sun set across the plains and hills, making for stunning sunsets and endless vistas. Yes, it’s a photographers dream location (and especially at sunset).

I only had 20 minutes to grab some establishing photos before guests arrived, but everywhere I looked photo opportunities beckoned.

How lavender flowers end up growing wild and populating paddocks and roadways so prolifically they name the road after them is a mystery, but it certainly adds to the whole picture perfect scene.

While it’s probably a bit too far for a day trip from Bris Vegas, if you are ever visiting Toowoomba be sure to make an afternoon or evening of it and visit Rosalie House. Just be sure to bring along a sober driver because there aren’t many Uber drivers lurking around Lilydale.

The musician featured by the way is James Ryle. He was super friendly, helpful and perhaps even more importantly, played some beautiful music all night long which was perfect for the occasion. If you are looking for a musician for your wedding, birthday or corporate event check out James Ryle.

And James, thanks again for letting me use your phone charger so I could navigate my way back to Brisbane!
